Istanbul is a place where you can find different sorts of dining and fun experience that will make your vacation at this marvelous city all worth while.

Traffic in Istanbul is relatively heavy. It is always handy to check every now and then the traffic conditions especially when you are heading towards a certain destination. In this way, you will not be stuck in traffic and can choose a better way to travel without going all the hassles. It is a must that you learn and have knowledge on how to travel using different types of transportations used on land, sea, and rail.

One good tip when it comes to traveling in Istanbul is you must avoid the rush hours. Traffic can be so congested that you might spend hours and hours in the traffic. Rush hours are usually from 7:30 a.m. until 10:00a.m. (mornings) and 5:00 p.m. until 8:00p.m. (evenings). It is highly recommended that you travel around the city not within the rush hours so that you will spend more time enjoying different types of activities than getting stuck in traffic.

If you are trying to save more money on transportation costs, you better get yourself an Akbil. As a famous travel destination, there are many airline companies offering cheap flights, so you might want to check out for that before booking your ticket. It is the most efficient and affordable way you can travel around Istanbul. Remember, if you want to get from one destination to the other, you must need to transfer from different transportation systems.

If you are planning to spend weeks or months at Istanbul, it is indeed more appropriate to get yourself an Akbil. It is referred to as smart ticket. It is an electronic key wherein you don’t need to pay cash on any tickets; all you need to do is present your Akbil and viola! You got a ticket. Good thing is – it all applies to all public transportation systems.

You can go to any central bus stations located at Kadiköy, Mecidiyeköy and Taksim. First thing you need to do is pay a deposit. After the kontör (initial amount of points) are all consumed, you can now start refilling your Akbil. There are Akbil booths situated in all central bus stations.

Remember, the initial deposit you put in for your Akbil can be redeemed at any Akbil booths. This can be all done when you don’t intend to use Akbil anymore and you are leaving the city for good.
